A talk on: New Beginnings, Strong Minds: Mental Health for First-Year Students
The programme was designed to provide awareness and practical insights into mental health, resilience, and positive adaptation among first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students as they begin their academic journey. A total of 54 students participated in the event.The talk on “New Beginnings, Strong Minds” was highly effective in equipping first-year students with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage their mental health. By addressing the challenges faced during the transition to higher education, the programme successfully enhanced the students’ confidence and resilience.

Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, organized a Career Guidance Session on “Careers in Broadcast Media - Insights and Opportunities” on 20th August 2025 at the Satyajit Ray Audio Visual Theatre. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. C. Rajesh, who urged students to utilize the college facilities and explore innovative career paths. The session was led by Mr. Sarang S, Journalist at News 18 Kerala and an alumnus of the department, who shared valuable insights on the prospects and challenges of broadcast media, motivating students to pursue opportunities in television and digital platforms.

The session was led by VM Sadique Ali, a renowned naturalist and wildlife photographer.The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Vishnu K.J.The Presidential Address was delivered by Nashariya K, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. C. Rajesh, Principal of MES Kalladi College, who appreciated the department for organizing the event and motivated students to pursue their creative interests with dedication and discipline.The interactive session with VM Sadique Ali gave students valuable insights into wildlife photography, career opportunities in photography, and the passion required to excel in the field.
