Seminar on intellectual property rights

Report on Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Date & Time: [24/10/25], 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM The Department of Commerce, MES Kalladi College, organized an enlightening seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” exclusively for M.Com students. The session was coordinated by Dr. Yasmin C.K., and presided over by Dr. Femina E.P., Head of the Department of Commerce. The seminar commenced at 11:00 AM with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty, and students. In her presidential address, Dr. Femina E.P. emphasized the growing importance of intellectual property rights in today’s competitive business and research environment. The resource person, Adv. Smruthi Rose T., an experienced advocate and trademark attorney, delivered an engaging and insightful session on the fundamentals and significance of IPR. She elaborated on various types of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, highlighting their practical relevance for entrepreneurs, researchers, and students. Her presentation was both informative and interactive, sparking keen interest and participation among the students. The seminar concluded at 12:30 PM with a vote of thanks proposed by Anagha, an M.Com student, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, coordinators, and all participants for making the session a great success. The event proved to be a valuable learning experience, enriching students’ understanding of intellectual property rights and their importance in safeguarding creativity and innovation.
