Understanding and Practicing Mindfulness
The Department of Psychology and Counselling Centre, MES Kalladi College, organized a practical mindfulness training programme titled “Understanding & Practicing Mindfulness” as part of the PM-USHA initiative on 5 October 2026. The programme was designed to introduce students to the principles and practical applications of mindfulness in everyday life. The session focused on developing present-moment awareness, mindful breathing, attention regulation and emotional awareness. Through practical exercises and experiential activities, the participants were encouraged to understand how mindfulness can be incorporated into their daily routines to manage stress, improve concentration and promote psychological well-being. The session was led by Dr. Prajeesh Palanthara, an experienced mindfulness practitioner and psychologist. The programme provided students with an opportunity to learn simple, practical techniques that can be practiced independently for maintaining a calm and balanced mind.
