Green Initiative programmes - Journalism 2025
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, M.E.S Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, organized a meaningful program in connection with World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 at 11:30 AM. The event was conducted with the theme “Sow a Seed, Share a Message”, aiming to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students and faculty. The program was formally inaugurated by the Principal Dr. C Rajesh of M.E.S Kalladi College, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in building a sustainable future. The inaugural address highlighted the need for small yet impactful actions to protect nature. As part of the initiative, the Department introduced an innovative concept of eco-friendly seed paper postcards. These postcards, embedded with seeds, were distributed to all departments of the college. The idea behind this initiative was to encourage individuals to plant the cards after use, thereby transforming messages into living plants and promoting greenery on campus. The distribution of seed postcards symbolized a collective commitment to environmental responsibility. Faculty members and students actively participated in the program, appreciating the creative approach taken by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The program successfully conveyed a strong message about sustainability, environmental awareness, and the importance of individual contribution toward a greener planet. It was both educational and inspiring, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
