B.A. English Language & Literature Honours

The B.A. English Language and Literature Honours programme offers a comprehensive study of literary forms, language, and cultural studies. Core papers include Introduction to Literature, Reading Fiction, Drama, Poetry, Literary Criticism, and Gender Perspectives, providing strong grounding in literary analysis. Advanced papers such as Foundations of Literary Theory, Language and Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, and Literature and Ecology expand interdisciplinary understanding. The curriculum also covers British Literature, American Literature, Postcolonial Studies, and Advanced Critical Theory, ensuring global literary exposure. Electives include areas like Indian literature, digital narratives, and creative writing. Skill-based courses such as academic writing and translation, along with internship and project components, enhance practical and research skills.

Eligibility Criteria

 Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
