The B.A. Arabic Language and Literature Honours programme, offered jointly with Arabic and Islamic History, is a well-structured course designed to develop strong proficiency in the Arabic language along with cultural and historical understanding .

Students begin with basic and communicative Arabic and advance to spoken Arabic, writing, and functional usage. Core courses such as Arabic Syntax and Morphology across multiple semesters provide a solid grammatical foundation, ensuring accuracy and fluency in expression.

The programme effectively develops all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Courses in translation, correspondence, media writing, and ICT-enabled Arabic enhance practical communication and professional competence. Skill-based components like Commercial Arabic, Functional Arabic, and IT skills in Arabic further strengthen employability.
