"Dhai Akhar"- The Joy of Letter Writing
Letter writing Competition
The “Dhai Akhar 2024” is a National Level Letter Writing Competition launched by India Post to revive and celebrate the tradition of letter writing. This annual initiative aims to foster creativity, critical thinking, and empathy while encouraging participants to showcase their writing skills.The theme for this year’s competition is “The Joy of Writing: Importance of Letters in a Digital Age.” Participants are invited to share their views on the significance of handwritten letters in today’s technology-driven world. In association with Physics Alumni Association India Post organized this competition in our college. The competition is divided into two groups: Upto 18 years and Above 18 years. Participants can write on a plane A-4 paper (upto 1000 words) or on an Inland Letter Card (upto 500 words). The competition is conducted in two phases: Circle Level and National Level. The winners at both levels will receive cash prizesCircle Level Prizes:• First Prize: ₹25,000• Second Prize: ₹10,000• Third Prize: ₹5,000National Level Prizes:• First Prize: ₹50,000• Second Prize: ₹25,000• Third Prize: ₹10,000The official inauguration function of this competition was held at Kasturba Gandhi Hall (Room No: SJB108) on 24/10/24 at 10:30AM. Altogether 32 participants were registered for this competition and out of which 27 were participated. Dr. Sainul Abidin K, Assistant Professor and Physics Alumni Association member welcomed the gathering. Head of the institution Dr. C Rajesh presided over the programme. In his presidential address he expressed the unmatched sense of warmth, nostalgia and self-expression that was once carried a by a letter. Our chief guest, Mr. M P Ramesh, Supdt. of Post Offices Ottapalam Division briefed about the competition and encouraged the students to participate in International Letter writing competition. Official vote of thanks was delivered by Head of the department of Physics Dr. Resmi K R. Mrs. Shahida (SPM Mannarkkad College Post Office), Mrs. Mubeena K (OA Mannarkkad Subdivision), Mr. Prabhakaran (Mail Overseer Mannarkkad Subdivision), Mr. Premadasan (Mail Overseer (Mannarkkad Subdivision) were the India Post officials present to conduct the competition. Mrs. Mohsina K, Assistant Professor (Department of Physics) was the coordinator of this programme.
