Research Methodology Workshop for English Studies The Department of English, MES Kalladi College, organised a workshop on “Research Methodology for English Studies” on 14 September 2026 at Ambedkar Hall, with the aim of providing students with practical insights into academic research. The programme began with the welcome speech by Dr. Shani A. Mopila, Programme Coordinator, who welcomed the Principal, faculty members, students, and the resource person to the workshop. Sajna A delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of developing research skills among students. Dr. Jasmine P. M. delivered the inaugural speech, highlighting the wide range of research opportunities available to students in English Studies and encouraging them to explore emerging areas of interdisciplinary research. She also emphasised the importance of developing research skills and making use of academic platforms and opportunities for further study. The workshop was led by Mr. Abdul Haseeb, Research Scholar, Government Victoria College, Palakkad, who shared valuable insights from his research experience. The session covered important aspects of research, including research design, methodology, MLA citation, academic integrity, and research ethics. The workshop provided an engaging platform for students to understand the various stages of research and encouraged them to approach academic inquiry with greater clarity, curiosity, and confidence. The programme was attended by faculty members and students of the department. Priya Velayudhan proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, and students for their participation and support. The programme concluded on a positive and enriching note.
