World Environment Day- Green Roots Program

The Department of Business Administration (SF) successfully organized the "Green Roots" Programme to commemorate World Environment Day. In an era where corporate landscapes are rapidly shifting toward ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance and climate accountability, this initiative was designed to bridge the gap between business management education and environmental stewardship. ​The primary objective of the program was to sensitize future management professionals to the concept of the Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet, and Profit) and encourage sustainable leadership practices.

Introduction & Context ​The Department of Business Administration (SF) successfully organized the "Green Roots" Programme to commemorate World Environment Day. In an era where corporate landscapes are rapidly shifting toward ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance and climate accountability, this initiative was designed to bridge the gap between business management education and environmental stewardship. ​The primary objective of the program was to sensitize future management professionals to the concept of the Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet, and Profit) and encourage sustainable leadership practices.Objectives of the "Green Roots" Programme ​The "Green Roots" Programme is strategically designed to align academic business education with ecological responsibility. Its primary organizational and pedagogical objectives include: ​To Cultivate Environmental Stewardship: To sensitize management students to urgent ecological challenges and instill a deep sense of personal and corporate responsibility toward environmental conservation. ​To Bridge Theory and Practice in Green Management: To provide a practical platform where students can apply classroom concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, and sustainable operations to real-world scenarios. ​To Foster Eco-Entrepreneurship: To encourage innovative, critical thinking by challenging students to design business models that solve environmental problems while remaining economically viable. ​To Drive Resource Optimization and Sustainable Practices: To teach students the principles of the Circular Economy and waste reduction ("Waste-to-Wealth") within institutional and corporate frameworks. ​To Establish Long-Term Accountability: To move beyond token environmental celebrations by assigning long-term ownership of campus greening and sustainability tracking to student cohorts. ​Learning Outcomes (LOs) ​Upon successful completion of the "Green Roots" programme, students will be able to: ​LO 1: Analyze Corporate Sustainability Frameworks Evaluate how environmental regulations, climate risks, and sustainability goals impact corporate decision-making and modern business strategies. ​LO 2: Design Sustainable Business Models Formulate viable, eco-friendly business proposals that integrate green marketing, sustainable supply chains, and resource optimization. ​LO 3: Apply the Concept of the Triple Bottom Line Demonstrate an operational understanding of how to balance People (social equity) and Planet (environmental health) with traditional corporate Profit metrics in management practices. ​LO 4: Demonstrate Leadership and Teamwork in Project Execution Collaborate effectively within teams to plan, execute, and monitor ecological projects (such as resource management and plantation maintenance), demonstrating clear project management skills. ​LO 5: Implement Innovative Waste Management Techniques Identify opportunities for upcycling and resource recovery within organizations, converting potential operational waste into value-added assets.
