“Clearing the Way for Biodiversity – Adhinivesha Sasya Eradication Drive” Clearing the Way for Biodiversity – Adhinivesha Sasya Eradication Drive” was organized by the Department of Chemistry, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad in association with the Forest Department, Silent Valley National Park Range, Poithuvapadam.The Department of Chemistry, MES Kalladi College, conducted an Environmental Promotion and Sustainability Programme titled “Clearing the Way for Biodiversity – Adhinivesha Sasya Eradication Drive” on 7th October 2025 at Poithuvapadam, in collaboration with the Forest Department, Silent Valley National Park RangeThe programme was inaugurated by Mr. Binu, Beat Forest Officer, who emphasized the importance of conserving native biodiversity by removing invasive plant species (Adhinivesha Sasya). He also highlighted the need for youth participation in ecological conservation activities to ensure a sustainable future.A group of enthusiastic students from the Department of Chemistry actively participated in the drive, working together with forest officials to clear unwanted weeds and invasive plant species that hinder the growth of indigenous flora. The activity provided students with hands-on experience in environmental protection and created awareness about maintaining ecological balance.The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Juliya A P, appreciating the support of the Forest Department, faculty members, and the students who contributed to the success of the programme.The Adhinivesha Sasya Eradication Drive served as a meaningful step towards promoting biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability, reinforcing MES Kalladi College’s commitment to community-based ecological initiatives.
