INNOVATIVE EXPO COOKIE MANUFACTURING
During the Innovative Expo 2026 held on January 19–21, 2026, the Department of Food Technology at MES Kalladi College (Autonomous), Mannarkkad, achieved outstanding success by manufacturing, packaging, and distributing 1,000 innovative Spirulina Millet Cookies to visiting guests and international delegates. This project served as a real-world industrial simulation for the department's students, who managed the entire lifecycle of the product—from formulation and commercial baking to compliant packaging and aesthetic labeling. The functional product combined climate-smart, fiber-rich millets with spirulina (a nutrient-dense superfood), successfully overcoming the ingredient's natural flavor barriers to deliver an exceptionally tasty, unique, and crunch-optimized snack. The initiative received immense praise from the global academic community present, effectively demonstrating the students' advanced technical skills in functional product development, mass production scaling, and professional food packaging design.
