SEMINAR ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY- RESEARCH PROBLEM TO PUBLICATION: ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGY The Research & Postgraduate Department of Chemistry, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad (Autonomous), in association with the Department of Forensic Science, organized a seminar titled “Research Problem to Publication: Essential Aspects of Research Methodology” on 9 January 2026 at 10.00 a.m. The seminar was conducted at Ambedkar Hall with the objective of enhancing research awareness and methodological skills among postgraduate students and research scholars. The programme commenced with a formal welcome speech by Dr. Sreenivasan K P, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and an inaugural session by Vice Principal Dr. Jaleel K T. The event was organized with the support and encouragement of Dr. Jasmine P M, Principal, and Dr. Mohammed Musthafa T N, Head of the Department, Research & PG Department of Chemistry. The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Sreenivasan K P, with Dinsha K , Head of the Forensic Science Department serving as the Joint Coordinator. The invited resource person for the seminar was Dr. Anoop S Nair, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, NSS College, Nemmara. In his insightful lecture, Dr. Anoop S Nair elaborated on the complete research workflow, beginning from the identification of a research problem to the final stages of publishing in reputed journals. He emphasized the importance of originality, proper literature survey, ethical research practices, data interpretation, and effective scientific writing. The session also covered practical aspects such as framing research objectives, selecting appropriate methodologies, avoiding plagiarism, choosing suitable journals, and responding to reviewers’ comments. The talk was highly informative and interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts regarding research proposal preparation and publication strategies. The seminar successfully fulfilled its objectives by providing participants with a clear understanding of the essential components of research methodology and the publication process. The session helped bridge the gap between academic learning and practical research execution, thereby equipping students with the necessary skills to undertake independent research projects with confidence. Participants expressed positive feedback regarding the clarity and relevance of the topics discussed. The resource person’s systematic presentation and real-time examples made complex research concepts easier to comprehend. The seminar also encouraged critical thinking and inspired students to approach research with a structured and ethical mindset. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Dinsha K, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the resource person and the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members. Overall, the programme was a great success and proved to be highly beneficial for postgraduate students and budding researchers, motivating them to pursue quality research and publications.
