POLICE STATION VISIT: MANNARKAD POLICE STATIONReported on: 04, 05 December 2024. Police station visit by the students of 1st year MSc Forensic Science, Department of Forensic Science, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkad.On 4th and 5th December 2024, at 2:00 PM, the visit to the police station. 18 students from the 1st year MSc Forensic Science visited the police station for an educational session. The visit commenced with an introduction to the station's administration by Sooraj Sir Class Tutor of Department of forensic science. Ramachandran Sir, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), elaborated on critical topics such as the FIR process, the General Diary, and the police's authority in filing FIRs. He introduced advanced applications like Thunna app, Poll app, and ICOPS (Integrated Core Policing System), highlighting their role in facilitating citizen services and criminal database management Emphasized that only a police officer is authorized to file an FIR. Discussed the structure and roles, including Security Guard, Sub-Inspector (SI), Civil police Officers (CPO), Station House Officer (SHO). Ramachandran Sir elaborated on the nature of cases managed at the station such as Suicide, Riots and fights, Gambling, Drunk and driving, Traffic rule violations. Highlighted citizen services like PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) and passport-related services. Introduced key personnel, including Sub-Inspector Ajasudeen Sir, Janamaithri Department officer Unni Krishnan sir. Inspector Rajesh M.P sir motivated the students, emphasizing the importance of adhering to rules and regulations. Visit to specific facilities like lockup and evidence Room led by a Civil Officer. In Investigation Wing, Interaction with Assistant Sub-Inspector Seena Ma’am, who discussed POCSO cases and domestic abuse. She inspired students, especially girls, to focus on education and personal growth. Mubarak Ali sir (CPO) shared insights on forensic science, crime scene investigation, and their future prospects. Motivated students to respect their parents and follow their advice. Unni Sir (CPO), Showed the Bell of Arms Room and service weapons including SLR, SAS, 303 Pistol, Grenade Launchers, explained their mechanisms and origin (Indian Small Arms System). Other Departments in police station are CCTV Monitoring Room and DYSP Office are shown to students by Unni sir (CPO). The session concluded with a photo session, marking the end of an enlightening visit.
