The Department of Data Science & Analytics, established in 2021, aims to meet the growing demand for professionals skilled in data-driven technologies across various sectors. Program Report World Environment Day – Newsletter Creation Competition Organized by: Department of Data Science and Analytics, MES Kalladi College.Mannarkkad Date: June 5, 2025 Venue: Data Science Lab 1. Objective of the Program: To commemorate World Environment Day 2025, the Department of Data Science and Analytics organized a creative and analytical event titled “Data-Driven Insights for a Greener Tomorrow”, encouraging students to use data analysis skills to raise environmental awareness. 2. Program Highlights: - Type of Event: Group Newsletter Creation Competition - Team Size: Maximum 3 students per group - Theme: Environment-focused newsletter based on real-world data - Tools Used: Excel, Python, Power BI, Canva, Google Docs, etc. - Medium: Digital newsletters in PDF format - Reporting Time: 11:15 AM - Submission Deadline: 12:30 PM on June 5, 2025 - Venue: Data Science Lab 3. Participation: - Total Groups Participated: 4 - Total Students Involved: 13 Students analyzed various data sources, including government reports, public datasets on climate and pollution, and visualized insights through charts, infographics, and summaries. 4. Judging Criteria: - Creativity and originality - Depth of data analysis - Clarity of insights - Formatting and visual appeal - Relevance to the theme 5.
