World Wetlands Day Observation 2026

World wetlands day observation organised by Department of Botany in association with Department of Zoology, Bhoomithra sena club, Biodiversity club and forestry club

The Departments of Botany and Zoology in association with Bhoomithra sena club, Biodiversity club and forestry club at MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad organized a day observation on world wetlands day 2nd February of the year 2026. It includes awareness procession on wetlands conservation and invited talk. Procession was flagged off by Vice- principal Dr. Lt. TK Jaleel and covered local areas of vadakkemadam ward of Kimaramputhur panchayat. Invited talk held at Kunthipuzha river basin. Dr. Sereena K (Co-ordinator, Biodiversity club & forestry club) welcomed the gathering and Nazeema MK (Head, Department of Botany) gave the presidential address. KK Vinod Kumar (Environmentalist, Teacher educator, Kottapuram SN college) inaugurated the event and led the session as Resource Person. Raveendran punnasseri (Member, Porkkorikkal kav trust) Sruthi M. (Department of Zoology) gave felicitations. Ashfak Ahammed O. (Programme co-ordinator) offered the vote of thanks. 68 students particpated in the program.
