MES KALLADI COLLEGE MANNARKKAD RESEARCH & POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY REPORT ON THE PROGRAMME “RESEARCH AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN CHEMISTRY” The Research & Postgraduate Department of Chemistry, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, successfully organized a career development and planning program titled "Research and Career Opportunities in Chemistry" on 10th March 2025. The session was aimed at providing valuable insights into career prospects and research opportunities in the field of Chemistry.The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Mohammed Musthafa TN, Head of the Department of Chemistry. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of career awareness and research advancements in Chemistry. He emphasized how such programs help students shape their future and make informed career decisions.The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. C. Rajesh, Principal of MES Kalladi College. During his inaugural address, he appreciated the efforts of the Chemistry Department in organizing such an insightful session. He also encouraged students to explore the diverse career options in Chemistry and motivated them to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.The felicitation speeches were delivered by Programme Coordinator, Ms. Nusrath P, who expressed gratitude to the resource person and acknowledged the efforts of faculty members in making the event a success and College Union Joint Secretary, Sayyidath Shaziya Ridha. The keynote session was conducted by Dr. Surendran Parambadath, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, SNGS College, Pattambi. He delivered a detailed and insightful class on “Research and Career Opportunities in Chemistry”. He elaborated on: • Various career paths available for Chemistry graduates. • The scope of research in different branches of Chemistry. • Higher education opportunities in India and abroad. • The role of Chemistry in industries such as pharmaceuticals, environmental science, material science, and more. • Skills required to excel in Chemistry-related careers. Students actively participated in the interactive session, seeking guidance regarding career planning and research opportunities. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammed Zishan, Association Secretary. He expressed gratitude to the resource person, the Principal, faculty members, student coordinators, and attendees for their enthusiastic participation, making the event a grand success. The program provided students with valuable knowledge about career prospects in Chemistry. The interactive discussions and expert guidance encouraged students to explore various opportunities in research and industry. The event was highly appreciated by both students and faculty members.
