An awareness programme on Laboratory Chemicals
Extension activity programme organised by Research and PG Department of Chemistry
“AN AWARNESS PROGRAMME ON LABORATORY CHEMICALS” On July 21, 2024, the Research & PG Department of Chemistry organized an “Awareness Programme on Laboratory Chemicals” for high school students, in collaboration with the Gifted Children Programme, Mannarkkad Educational District. The event, aimed at enhancing students' understanding of laboratory chemicals and their applications, saw participation from 68 students. The programme included guided tours of the BSc, MSc, and research laboratories within the Chemistry Department, where students engaged in practical sessions involving various chemical experiments. Dr. Sreenivasan K.P., the programme coordinator, delivered an insightful lecture on nanotechnology, highlighting its significance and applications. Dr. Mohammed Musthafa, Head of the Chemistry Department, welcomed the participants and elaborated on potential career opportunities in the field of chemistry. Mr. Jayaram, Coordinator of the Gifted Children Programme, concluded the event with a vote of thanks. The event was attended by faculty members Dr. Ajay Ajith, laboratory staff member Navas, and research scholars from the department. At the conclusion of the programme, students provided feedback, expressing their appreciation for the educational experience and the practical exposure they gained.
