Awareness classes on Government schemes for tribals

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCEMES KALLADI COLLEGE MANNARKKAD EXTENSION ACTIVITY REPORT AWARENESS PROGRAMMEONGOVERNMENT SCHEMES FOR TRIBAL COMMUNITYPROGRAMME REPORTAs a part of extension programme, Department of Commerce organised a visit to the Chindakki, a tribal colony in Attappadi on 27th November 2024. The main aim of this programme is to provide an awareness regarding government schemes to tribal community and motivate them to avail these schemes. The campaign covered 20 tribal colonies and included interactive sessions, surveys, and awareness drives.Objectives of the ProgrammeTo raise awareness about schemes provided by the governmentTo enquire the problems faced by the tribal community while availing different schemes.Activities ConductedAwareness SessionsThe students gave interactive lectures about government schemes, focussing on the procedure for availing those schemes. Government schemes includes Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission, Equity support scheme, Venture capital fund etc. These schemes comprising economic, educational and social development through institution building are administered by the Ministry and implemented mainly through the State Governments/Union Territory.SurveyA detailed survey was conducted among the tribal residents to understand their accessability to the schemes, problems faced by them while availing the schemes. For data collection, a Schedule was prepared and the students were interacted with them. According to the survey's findings, the majority of the indigenous people in Chindakki colony are unaware of the programs designed just for them.
