A FIELD TRIP TO AGRARIAN ECONOMY OFATTAPPADI TRIBAL BLOCK

“Field Trip to Agrarian Economy of Attappadi Tribal Block” was organized by the Research and Post Graduate Department of Economics, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad. The programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to agrarian practices and the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities in Attappadi. A total of 23 participants took part in the field trip. The students were escorted and guided by Dr. Anu Joseph and Dr. Nasiya V. K, who served as the faculty coordinators. The programme commenced at 2:00 PM and concluded at 4:00 PM. During the visit, students observed agricultural activities, interacted with local tribal communities, and gained insights into the agrarian economy, traditional farming methods, and livelihood patterns in the Attappadi region. The field trip provided valuable experiential learning and enhanced students’ understanding of rural and tribal development.
