The Department of Forensic Science organized a flash mob in collaboration with “Revive” on September 26th at Mannarkkad Bus Stand, as part of the observance of Suicide Prevention Month and Forensic Science Week. The event aimed to raise awareness about suicide prevention and promote the message of mental health and social responsibility. The program was conducted under the guidance and leadership of HoD Dinsha K and Malavika U, who motivated and supported the students in delivering a meaningful and impactful performance. The main attraction of the event was a street play that portrayed a powerful story centered on the issue of dowry harassment and its devastating consequences. Through their performance, it helped to spread awareness about suicide prevention and to emphasize the importance of mental health and emotional well-being. Through dance and performance, the students delivered a strong message encouraging people to speak up, seek help, and support one another during difficult times. The event also aimed to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and inspire the community to promote compassion, understanding, and hope. The program received an overwhelming response from the public gathered at the bus stand. The realistic portrayal and strong message left a lasting impact on the audience, encouraging reflection and dialogue on the importance of empathy, equality, and mental health awareness. The event successfully conveyed that suicide is preventable and that timely support and compassion can help save lives. Overall, “Revive” was a commendable initiative by the Department and students to create social awareness through creative expression.
