CRIMESHOT - Crime scene photography

The Department of Forensic Science, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, successfully conducted “Crimeshot” Crime Scene Photography Competition on 22nd August 2025 at Science Block. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed principal, Dr. Rajesh C followed by a presidential address by Ms Dinsha K, Head of Forensic Science Department. The event aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in documenting and analysing a mock crime scene using Forensic photography technique. A total of 21 teams, each consisting of two students, participated in the competition, showcasing their observation skills, technical precision, and analytical thinking. Each team was given 5 minutes to examine a realistically recreated crime scene and capture six photographs that included overall, mid-range, and close-up views using mobile camera. The entries were judged based on photo quality, scene coverage, and logical analysis. A panel of faculty assessed the submissions and selected the top three teams for prize. The event was a valuable learning experience, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application in a competitive yet educational setting. “Crimeshot” not only enhanced students’ Forensic documentation skills but also fostered teamwork and critical observations. The Department of Forensic Science expressed gratitude to all participants, and organizers who made out the event a big success.
