To Educate the households about the importance of savings and to reduce the situation of impulse buying behaviour. 3. To create an awareness and make a positive attitude toward Money Management. among Households Outcome of extension activity: 1. It helped the students to know their role in the upliftment of Society 2. Apart from studies students got a chance to extend an orientation session on the importance of savings and financial planning among Households3. The households are very happy to meet the students to familiarise themselves with some Money management apps.Activity ReportRural Households have an important role in savings and investment. It is very essential for the economic progress of a nation. Financial planning is the process of taking a comprehensive look at in financial situation and building a specific financial plan to reach goals. The Department of Commerce has made an effort to provide a class on financial planning to households in wards No. 1 and 2 of Mannarkad Municipality. Students of B.com, and M.com participated and introduced different financial planning apps among households by differentiating their utilities compared to printed books. Moreover, they had given an orientation session on how to make small savings by avoiding impulse purchase behaviours usually practiced by households. Students presented the concept very well by illustrating examples of some personalities who won through financial planning. They also gave classes on modes of investment suitable to households. The extension programme was held on 26/10/2023 (Thursday) in Ward No:1 and 2 of Mannarkad Municipality. Programme started with a welcome speech by Shameera MK (Programme coordinator) and was followed inaugural address by Counsellor in Mannarkad municipality. Students cleared the doubts raised by many members with regard to the usage of the money savings App. The programme was indeed a successful one, students and Households actively participated in the programme.
