World Arabic Day-Awareness Programme for High School Students

World Arabic day Awareness Programme for High School Students in connection with 150 years of Mahathma Celebration has conducted on 5th December 2019 at Desabandhu Higher Secondary School Thachampara in association with Alif Arabic Club DBHSS Thachampara & Jalakam (Extension Activity Cell, MES Kalladi College Mannarkkad) by Dept. of Arabic & Islamic History as its Extension Programme. Programme was started by prayer song of School Choir and delivered the welcome speech by Dr. Faisal Babu Co-ordinator, Extension Programmes, Dept. of Arabic & Islamic History, MES KC. Benny Joseph (Head Master, DBHS Thachampara) delivered the Presidential address and the programme officially inaugurated by V. P Jayarajan (Principal, DBHSS Thachampara). P.M. Balkees (Staff Secretary, DBHS), Prof. Ayoob Puthanangadi (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Arabic) were felicitated the occasion. In the technical session, Prof. Fathimath Faouziya (HOD of Arabic, MES KC) delivered Keynote Address on the important of Arabic Language in post-modern world. Seminar paper presented by Prof. Shihab AM (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Islamic History) on “Higher Studies opportunities of Arabic Students” and Arabic Calligraphy training were provided by Muhammed Shameem and Nahila K (III BA Arabic & Islamic History students). 124 students of DBHS were benefitted the programme. As part of the programme a number Arabic day Arts & Literary Competitions were conducted and compared by the students of the Dept. of Arabic & Islamic History. Arabic Caption making competition, Arabic Quiz competition, Arabic conversation making, Arabic Calligraphy were organized by Nihala PA, Abdul Jaleel, Sahla, Shameem and Nahila (BA Arabic & Islamic History students). Arabic Arts Fest Arabic day Arts Fest lead Adil Mushraf (I BA Arabic & Islamic History), Sahla Thasneem (II BA Arabic & Islamic History). Smt. Naseera M. (HSA in Arabic, DBHS), Sri. Abdul Majeed (UPSA in Arabic, DBHS), Sri Suresh (IT) were distributed the prizes for winners. Session ended with the Vote of Thanks by Roshna Ashraf (HSA in Arabic, DBHS) on 1.30 pm. As per the opinion of the participants, the entire programme was very much effective and beneficial to them.
