Scholarship

The students of this college are entitled to various Scholarships, Prizes and Fee Concession. The following schemes are available at present. The details and application forms can be obtained from the college office.

1. Fee Concession to SC/ST/OEC students

All students belonging to SC/ST/OEC are eligible for full concession and hostel fee concession, monthly stipend, annual lumpsum grant, university exam fee concession and hostel fee concession if any.

E- GRANTZ

For students pursuing post-matric courses approved by the University / Board

Eligibility:

Students pursuing post-matric courses approved by the university / board Students admitted under merit and reservation quota

  1. Students who belong to the categories of Scheduled castes, other eligible communities, OBCs and other communities who are socially and economically backward including forward castes
  2. Students whose attendance is not below 75% at the end of each month

  1. Scheduled Castes and other eligible Communities: Lumpsum grant, Monthly stipend (day scholars) ABLC + Pocket Money (hostellers) Reimbursement of Tuition Fee, Special fee and examination fee in full without income limit.
  2. OBCs For +1 and +2 Monthly stipend, reimbursement of special fee and exam fee subject to income limit Financial Support         

For Degree Courses Reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.

For PG and Professional courses Lumpsum grant, monthly stipend , Reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam subject to income limit

For degree courses Reimbursement of tuition fee, Special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.

For PG and Professional Courses : Lumpsum grant, monthly stipend , reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.

Fee is sanctioned once in an Academic year and paid to institution’s Account.

LSG is sanctioned once in a year, stipend and mess Charges are sanctioned are credited to students bank Account.

2. Fee Concession to other students

All other students whose parental annual income does not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- limits are eligible for full fee concession and university examination fee for Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses respectively.

3. Student Aid Fund

A fund is maintained by collecting donations from the staff and the students of the college and public to help the poor and deserving students by giving them scholarship and other kind of help

4. Prizes & Awards

  • Kalladi Cheriya Kunchahammed Sahib Memorial Gold Medal:- The prize is instituted by Sri. K.C.K. Mohammed to the student securing highest marks in Degree Examination.
  • Scholarships awarded by M.E.S
  • Sri. K.P. Moidheen Kutty Sahib Memorial scholarship of Rs.200/- per month instituted by his children to one student of P.G course and Rs. 300/-per month instituted by his children to one degree student.
  • Valiyadi Kunhayammu Haji Memorial Prize:- The prize was instituted by Sri. Valiyadi Kunhalan Sahib(Late) to the Muslim student securing highest marks in B.Sc. Maths Examination.
  • Ramdas Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by the family members of Sri. K.E. Ramdas, a former student of the college, to the student securing highest marks in BA History Examination.
  • Mahathma Gandhi Prize:- The prize was instituted by Dr. T.I. Eapen (Late) to the student securing highest marks in B.Sc. Degree Examination.
  • P.T.A. Prize & Cash Awards
  • Sri. P.M. Pookoya Thangal Memortial Prize:- The prize is instituted by the members of the History department to the student securing highest marks in BA (History) Degree examination.
  • Smt. Nechully Madhavi Amma Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by Sri. Sivasankaran, Mannarkkad to the student securing highest marks in B.Sc.(Chemistry) examination.
  • Kongath Mammutty Memoria l Prize:- The prize is instituted by the Mammutty Sahib Memorial Committee, Alanallur to the student securing highest marks in B.A. (History) examination.
  • Sri. Itty Rarichan Nair Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by S.M. Sivasankaran, Mannarkkad to the student securing highest mark in B.Sc.(Physics) examination.
  • M.P. Chakkunni Nair Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by Prof. N.V. Padmanabhan Nair in memory of his late father to the student securing highest marks in B.A./ B.Sc. Examination in English.
  • K. Ahamed Kutty Haji Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by Prof. K. Moosa to the student securing highest marks in B.Sc.(Physics) examination.
  • K. Moideen Sahib Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by the Prof. K.I. Muhammed Kutty former principal, to the student securing highest marks in B.Sc(Chemistry) examination.
  • Sri. P. Narayanan Nair Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by Sri. Sivasankaran, Mannarkkad, to the student securing highest marks in Degree(English) Examination.
  • Prof. K.I. Mohammedkutty Prize:- The prize is instituted by the sent off committee constituted for the sent off of the former principal Prof. K.I. Mohammed Kutty in connection with his retirement on 31-3-1990. The prize will be awarded to the student securing highest marks in M.A., M.Sc., M.com examination.
  • Prize by Mathematics Department:- The prize instituted by the teachers of the Mathematics Department for the top scorer in Final B.Sc. Degree (Mathematics) examination.
  • Hari M. Nair Memorial Prize :- To be awarded to the student securing highest marks in B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree Examination.
  • Prof. K. Moosa Prize:- The prize is instituted by the Department of Physics in connection with the retirement of Prof. K. Moosa for final B.Sc. Physics examination top scorer Rs. 900/-
  • Ahammed Kutty Memorial History Prize:- Instituted by Prof. K.V. Muhammed Haneefa in memory of his late father Janab P.N. Ahammed Kutty. The prize is worth Rs. 600/- is to be awarded to the student securing highest marks in M.A.(History) examination.
  • Prof. M. Mohammed Prize:- The prize is instituted by the staff of Commerce Department in honour of the former principal and Head of the Department of Commerce Prof. M. Mohammed, on his retirement on 31-03-1999 to the student securing highest marks in M.Com. and B.Com. examination.
  • C. Kunhi Mohammed Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by Smt. C. Assya D/o (Late) Kunhi Muhammed, Department of Hindi for the student securing highest marks in Hindi, for the II DC examination.
  • Smt. Lakshmikutty Amma Memorial Prize:- The prize is instituted by sons and daughters of (Late) Smt. Lakshmikutty Amma, for a student securing highest marks in B.Com. Degree(Final year examination).
  • Prof. V.K. Aboobacker & Prof. P.K. Ramankutty Prize:- The prize is instituted by the staff of Commerce department in honour of their retirement from service in the year 2002 to the student securing 1 st , 2 nd or 3 rd Rank in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.
  • Prof. M.K. Fareed Prize:- For the student securing highest marks in the B.A. Subsidiary Political Science.
  • Prof. M.K. Fareed endowment:- The staff of the college and PTA together has deposited Rs. 1 Lakh in the bank and the interest from it will be utilized for the financial assistance of economically backward students.
  • Prize instituted by Mr. M. Jayachandran a former student of Commerce for the top scorer in B.Com. Degree University examination Rs. 10,000/-
  • Prize instituted by Prof. M. Parameswaran Namboodiri Fomer H.O.D. Physics, on his retirement to top scorer in M.Sc. Physics from the returns of endowment Rs. 10000/-
  • Prize instituted by Prof. C.J. George former H.O.D. Physics on his retirement to the top scorers. a) M.Sc. Physics Rs. 1000, b) B.Sc. Physics Rs. 750, c) I & II year Physics Rs. 500, d) Subsidiary Physics Rs. 250
  • Cultural forum prize : Kala Prathibha, Kala Thilakam, Sargha Prathibha, Chithra Prathibha the prize is worth Rs.250/- each
  • T.K. Mohammed Sha Memorial Scholarship instituted by former H.O.D. Chemistry Prof. T.K. Aboobacker in memory of his father T.K. Mohammed Sha to be awarded to the most deserving students of Ist M.Sc. or II B.Sc. Chemistry main for completing his/her studies in this college.
  • Kunnath Mammu Memorial prize worth Rs. 500/- to be awarded to the Muslim student securing highest marks in M.Com.
  • Kunheema Memorial prize worth Rs. 300/- to be awarded to the student securing highest in B.A. Arabic & Islamic History. These prizes are instituted by K. Mohammed Head accountant (retired) from this college.
  • C.M. Krishnankutty Nair & Smt. Devaki Amma endowment instituteted by Prof. M. Shanthakumari, Dept of Mathematics to the student securing highest mark in Bsc Maths & Msc Maths Rs.750/- each
  • Prize instituted by Prof. K. Abdul Kareem in memory of his late father Mammukutty Haji to the best Malayalam student Rs.500/-
  • Prize instituted by T. Abdu, Lab Assistant (Retired) to the top Scorer in M.Sc Physics.
  • Prize instituted by Prof. Premakumari. C., Retired staff of Dept. of Mathematics, for Msc. (Maths), Bsc. (Maths), toppers Rs. 1500 each, and Rs. 1000/- each for Second toppers.
  • Shafeeq memorial endowment instituted by his classmates for top scorer in B.A. Economics.
  • Sajeena memorial endowment instituted by her classmates for top scorer in M.A . Economics.
  • Prof. T.M. Suhra Beevi Memorial Prize : Instituted by members of her family in memory of Prof. T.M. Suhra Beevi, earst while head Department of Mathematics. The top Scorer in final year University Exam in B Sc. & M Sc. (Mathematics). Award Tariff the Cash Prize of Rs 5000/- for B Sc. and Rs. 7500/- for M Sc.
  • Vengasseri Muhammed Memorial prize instituted by Usman Vengasseri, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics in memory of his father, to be awarded to topper of B.sc physics and M.Sc physics university examination.
  • VRP Memorial merit scholarship Rs. 10,000 - Instituted by Dr. Rugmini Padmakumar (Chemistry Alumni) in loving memory of her father Ramachandrapanikkar to the second B.Sc Chemistry topper
  • Cash award instituted by T.M. Sudha (80 - 83 batch) to the top holder of B.Sc and MSc Chemistry in memory of her mother in law late smt. P. Lakshmi amma
  • Cash award institutes by P.M. Suresh an in memory of his father aryavidyar P.M. Namboothiri to the B.Sc and M.Sc chemistry to pholds

5. Other Fee Concessions

The following fee concessions are available to deserving students who are within the income limit and other conditions of eligibility.

  • Fee Concession to the children of Political Sufferers.
  • Fee concession to the children of Disabled Persons.
  • Fee concession to the children and dependents of service personal who have been killed or disabled in action.

Students from SC/ST or Students belonging to minority communities, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Students, Physically challenged students and economically deprised students.
